I realize everyone gets a lot of junk mail these days, so I thank you in advance for your time and consideration. ISASCI Indonesia Foundation or (Intelligent Study or Art and Science in Indonesia Foundation) works with children and teenagers in East Java, in the Indonesian archipelago. Their mission is to give young people a better start in life by teaching them art, philosophy, science, and eco-conservation. By teaching the children about these subjects, and how to live with the land, they hope to stop children from being recruited by terrorist groups in their part of the world that would use them as suicide bombers. By cultivating open minds and open hearts in each child in Indonesia, we can give these children brighter futures.
HISTORY
ISASCI started with a group of 12 Indonesian high school students. They started the group as a club, and wanted to continue their work after graduation. They since have gotten license to teach to hundreds of children during the week and on Saturdays. They hold workshops on leadership, jungle survival, philosophy and many other subjects.
I have worked very hard helping them spread their message. ISASCI made me their media consultant, and since then we have a website, a database of Internet research resources, and a partnership with at least one teen forum on the web.
GOALS
ISASCI hopes to expand their teaching. We hope to gain more volunteers within the local community and build relationships with friends all over the world.
In order to reach these goals, ISASCI needs the help of many generous people. Our funds are almost non-existent. Our equipment is badly out of date and in need of repair. We have limited access to books of any kind. They are either very expensive, or simply not there. Most of the members do not speak English, and those that do cannot speak it very well. I think visual media is the best way to communicate between cultures and that is where you come in.
WAYS YOU CAN HELP
I am currently looking for groups to build partnerships with ISASCI. We would like the children to be able to learn from people in other parts of the world. To see what life is like in other countries. We also need books and magazines-- reliable resources for information when we do our research. We simply can’t afford textbooks. We need projection equipment, cameras—anything that can be used as a teaching tool.
A NOTE FROM TEAM ISASCI
“Because Village around our city, their education is very under develop. Most of them are good children but their parents’ economic status is under poverty lines. If the potential children are found by narrow-minded political groups and terrorist organizations, they’ll be persuaded to join in by using give all family to entice. But we (ISASCI Indonesia) for recent doesn’t have enough fund to help their economic, but we just can help them in education in order to they’d have open mind pattern and open heart pattern.
We also need Science books (National geography, Discovery channel, American Scientific, Encyclopedia, etc). We would like to build a digital library, so if the students needed some information about the contents of the books for their homework, we can help them. The science books what we means is like Discovery Channel, National Geography, American scientific, Encyclopedia science (Biology, Math, Physics, Chemistry, History, Geography, etc.). Maybe you have some book and magazine, which you don’t need anymore? Because in here the prize of the magazines and the books about science is very expensive and we just have limit in Encyclopedia books and magazines science.
Today we have get license to teach in SMUN 1 Surabaya (1 Senior high school) with total 240 student, once a week in Saturday to give philosophy review of all subject matter. Now, we have planning to build digital library for students, But the problem is our science books very limited, it might you can help us if you have books?

We hope to bring joy and knowledge into the lives of all the children we work with. Science and art make life richer and more meaningful, and guide children away from harmful influences. 

Our goal is to reach out to youth and teenagers in the classroom, and show them how love, comassion and enviornmental conservation is important not only to us, but to all nations of the world. 

Celebrating diveristy and fostering eco-conscious life choices--as well as showing compassion for others, are important parts of our mission. 

We rely heavily on the kindess and generosity of the people in our local community and in other parts of the world. 

The Orli Project 2004

We are currently working with BloomNet, an Orlando Bloom Fan site, to provide a special gift for some of the children. We are looking for volunteers to write letters about their lives and their culture and also to send homemade friendship bracelets to ISASCI. Who we are

Indonesia Foundation ( The Intelligence Study of Art &Science Indonesia Foundation) remains active in education and training of Art and Science. ISASCI Indonesia was founded in 1998 by a group of students, age 16, but still very passionate about helping their community. Members are generally busy, and we have had our ups and downs in pioneering an organization. At the moment, we have more than 20 members, but they drop off like leaves in Autumn. We accept this as a natural part of the process, and all our members have a big soul, open heart and broad knowledge of life. We are all people who enjoyed difficulty as an art in life--we are survivors. We founded this organization with little support and it was very difficult as you can imagine.
Since so many of our members love film, film is a subject we often use to relate our philosophy to the young people. Our most common example these days is the work of actor Orlando Bloom.
"Maybe, in the LOTR film has told that ‘Land,Water And Air Were contaminated and the darkness has covering in the middle earth’ but for us,at this moment pollution not more polluted land,water and air but also contaminated and poisoned heart and mind human and darkness not more covered in the middle earth but attack violently in all corners of the world."
Isasci Indonesia formed because of our concern for younger generations. The situation causes many narrow minded parties around us to find use children as a potential resource to serve their purpose. Because of that, Isasci Indonesia exists. We didn’t want the teenager and children, including orphans, waifs and especially the children in the undeveloped rural regions to fall prey to these people. The situation is serious. Life, nature and culture are destroyed by narrowmindedness.
"We are mysticism with age between 19 until 24 years. In 2003, We were form 12 person and in the March, 21st 2003 We were Born in legitimate with 12 person Nuclear member and that date we were to be ’THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RINGS’. In March, 21st 2003 for us not a coinsidentally but have a great meaning, where is date 21st = 2 + 1 = 3 , which 3 Shows the Human life stories in the world that is : born, life and die. Whereas month of March, constitute the third month shows that is real enemy of human in the world is 1. Deformed carnal desire 2. Devil inside Heart of human 3. World Trickery. And years 2003 consist of 2 and 3 = 23, which number 23 shows that inside human body consist 23 Chromosom.
